Richard Le Gendre (bass) had his first experiences with music at the age of 4 while handling the violin as taught by the religious ones. His passion for animated film and the love of Frederick Bach's work, during his teen age years inspired him to study animated film under the supervision of Wendy Tilby at Concordia University. After getting involved in many local bands as a lead vocalist, Richard picked up the upright bass and now performs, composes, and arranges for the likes of all his newest projects.

Montrealer Alain Mercure (drums/percussion) has been playing and performing music professionally since the age of 16. After taking master classes with Chris McCann, this self-taught drummer manifests his directions and visions of how to play the instrument with a distinctive and personal sound. Alain's deep attraction to operate in wide arrays of all styles as always been his mojo. Through the years, Alain's taste in percussion has driven him the become a fresh pioneer in the new school art of drumming.

Born and raised in Tokyo, Ko Umezaki (shakuhachi) started instructions on the shakuhachi playing traditional trio pieces from the Kinko school repertoire. His degree in Electroacoustic music led him to experiment with tradition and technology by combining the shakuhachi with electronics. He currently teaches courses in music and new media at McGill University and performs worldwide with the Silk Road Ensemble.
